Terms of Service & Sandbox Agreement
Welcome to BytesLab. By accessing our interactive laboratories, invoking our compiler APIs, or running untrusted code in our sandboxes, you enter into a binding agreement with BytesLab under these governing terms.
- • Algorithmic problem solving and data structure practice.
- • Educational compilation in C, C++, Python, and JS.
- • Solving official BytesLab coding curriculum tasks.
- • Personal benchmarking within assigned memory quotas.
- • Attempting container escapes or kernel privilege escalation.
- • Deploying fork bombs, infinite memory allocation loops, or DoS tools.
- • Hosting cryptocurrency miners or reverse proxy backdoors.
- • Automated hammering of compiler endpoints outside API limits.
Permitted Laboratory & Educational Use
BytesLab grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access our platform strictly for legitimate educational development, computer science study, systems programming, and technical interview preparation.
You agree to use the sandboxed compute engines in accordance with applicable local, national, and international cybersecurity laws and regulations.
Acceptable Use Policy & Prohibited Conduct
Our sandboxes run on multi-tenant hardware clusters. Any action that threatens host stability, circumvents isolation boundaries, or degrades service for other users is strictly forbidden:
You must not attempt to exploit kernel vulnerabilities, read host socket devices (/var/run/docker.sock), bypass namespace boundaries, or manipulate host namespaces.
Spawning recursive subprocess trees (fork bombs), attempting memory hog attacks exceeding assigned limits, or initiating outbound network packet floods will trigger automated host circuit-breakers.
Using BytesLab compute instances to run proof-of-work mining binaries, proxy relays, or command-and-control (C2) beacons is strictly prohibited.
Security Telemetry & IP Logging Consent
By clicking "Run" or submitting code payloads to any BytesLab endpoint (including guest / unauthenticated sessions), you explicitly acknowledge and consent to our automated security telemetry logging.
Every compilation request commits the source code, standard streams (stdout/stderr), execution timing, memory watermark, and the caller's originating IP address to our tamper-evident SHA-256 ledger. This telemetry is retained for security auditing and abuse defense.
Sandbox Computing Quotas & Resource Ceilings
To ensure equitable multi-tenant performance, sandboxes enforce the following hard constraints:
| Constraint Metric | Default Threshold | Enforcement Action |
|---|---|---|
| Execution Wall Clock Time | 10.0 seconds max | Process killed via SIGKILL (Exit 137) |
| Memory Allocation (RAM) | 128 MB MicroVM ceiling | Kernel OOM Killer invoked |
| Network Sockets | Disabled (--net=none) | All outbound sockets dropped |
| Disk Write Buffer | Read-only Root Filesystem | Writes restricted to temporary /tmp |
Intellectual Property Rights
Your Code: You retain complete, unencumbered ownership of all original source code, algorithms, and technical solutions you author on BytesLab. We claim no intellectual property rights or ownership over your code.
BytesLab Platform & Content: All curriculum materials, lab problem descriptions, automated test cases, user interface designs, and system architectures are the proprietary property of BytesLab and protected by intellectual property laws.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
BytesLab is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that compiler runtimes will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for mission-critical production deployment.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BytesLab and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or code.
Violations & Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend, rate limit, or permanently revoke access for any user or IP subnet that breaches these Terms, attempts unauthorized penetration testing without written consent, or submits payloads intended to compromise infrastructure stability.
